Crochet Tutorial

I'll start with this: Diana, YOU ROCK!!!
Had you not suggested that photobucket thingie, I wouldn't have tried to save these as JPEGs, and I don't think I would have ever managed to get them up here. Thank you!

These will get larger when you click on them, so I hope they're nice and clear for you. So far, everyone who's tried it has loved it.

Addendum:
I would like to let you all know how much I've appreciated all of your words of thanks, and personal emails. It brings me so much pleasure to know that this tutorial was helpful in getting you all on the way to understanding the technique; and all of your comments are wonderful, and have left me more grateful than you could ever imagine.

Thank you again
Jewels

Merci encore
Jewels

And sorry, these are the only two languages I write fluently so far. ;)

I'm so glad my suggestion helped! Your photos came out nice and clear, too. And, the tutorial is GREAT! Now, I think I might just have the patience to try bead crochet with your help... :)

ALso, thanks for your kind comment. Andy Warhol is probably my favourite artist. *blush* :)

Hey Diana!
Thank you. And thank you for the suggestion. What's more, now that I know how to do this, be prepared to see lots more tutes on here from now on! ;)

It's the truth D, you are one fantastic bead artist. What I love most about your work is that it incites curiosity. I don't know what sparks your ideas (well, I do, since you write about them), what I mean is, how you tick... You are definitely cut from the same cloth as the great masters. Truth!

Tea! Woman: Where have you BEEN!

I know, I know.... Too well actually. It's this little thing called life, right? ;)

Aw, Phos, I'm sad about Jinny too. But you know what? She's a tough cookie. We'll help her through this. We'll all be there for her.

LMBO!!!!

M: Oh honey! I just laughed so hard, I nearly fell off my chair! lol!

... Not that I don't think that you could do it... It's just that I happen to know that you're not exactly the, er, manual type... ;)

But hey! I'd be more than happy to sit in and help you out! :D

Oh LJ! I'm so happy you finally came over to check it out!

I knew that you wanted to give this a try, and I couldn't wait to hear what you'd think of the instructions.

Taught the technique at our last bead meeting. At least a dozen ladies got it, and a few more have emailed/called me to let me know that they'd gotten it. Yay!

Looking forward to seeing some samples on your blog. ;)

This is the best crochet tutorial I've seen yet! Thank you for posting it.

This gives me hope that maybe I *don't* have a hopeless mental block for crocheting...
Unknown said…
LOL! Kristen: If I can do it, YOU can do it!

Hope you have fun learning. It's all about the practice. The frog stitch will come in handy, but once you get it, you'll be hooked!

Great photos. I already know how to bead crochet but I struggled. Your tutorial would certainly have shortened the time it took.

Now ... if you would please do a tutorial on the invisible join, I would be most grateful. I almost have it mastered but some nice closeup photos would help.
Unknown said…
Thank you Diane O!

It took me quite some time to figure out the invisible join. I used to 'sew' the end beads together, but I figured out that you actually sew the links, and NOT the beads!

I'll see what I can do about some photos for that.

Thanks for stopping by!

Encore MERCI

A la prochaine

Thank you so much for posting this excellent tutorial! Not only do I understand how to do this type of crochet now, but I have a clearer idea of how to make a really helpful tutorial (which is something I want to try). :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this excellent and easy to follow tutorial:) I'm sure it must have taken quite a bit of time!!! Thanks so much:)
Crochet tutorial is completely new for me. But this will give me lots of information regarding how we come up with nice and clear photos.

Thank you so much for the wonderful, CLEAR instructions. I have been SO FRUSTRATED trying to figure out how to do this (the finished product looks so fabulous). I have watched video and tried to figure out other tutorials confusing photos. I so appreciate you taking the time to photograph your demo with BIG beads and then being so thorough! You should do more!!!
